Calligram Assignment

 For the calligram assignment we were asked to write a future letter to ourselves. After we wrote the letter we were asked to use these words and create a calligram of ourselves!

Future Letter: 

To my future self… in 20 years I hope to be a confident woman with a loving family. I hope to have a job with something in social media and striving to be the best version of myself. I hope that my children look up to me and see all the hard work that it took to get me to where I will be. Starting at a young age I was always a hard worker and a leader. However, as I began high school that did not stick with me. I was always worried about what other people would think of me and tried to conform to them, instead of being my true self and not worrying about others. Once I started college, I was still that scared little girl in the inside and was worried about being able to make friends. I started out being a nursing major because like I said before I was following what I thought was the right thing. I soon figured out that I was holding in my feelings and not pursuing what I would excel in in the future. I thought about my love and passions and realized that even though I am a very caring individual, my future is not going to be in a hospital for 12 hours a day. I am a very outgoing person and I realized that I need to express this more. I switched my major to Advertising and Public Relations and I think this has been what I needed all along. Now I am currently in my second year of college, and I can feel that I have matured. I can see myself being more confident and standing up for what I believe in. I have recently taken on a leadership position in my sorority. Yes, it is hard work, but I know that this will help me grow even more than I already have. I think that if I could tell my future self one thing it would be to look at the person I have just become in one year, and if I keep pushing myself to be that strong, confident women I know I can be, then I will pat myself on the back and congratulate her for what she has accomplished.
